A Sunny Summer Orange Juice

Some days you need to bring your own sunshine.
and this juice is perfect for those days.

It's also perfect for days where you feel like your immune system needs a boost, or if your liver needs some love, or if you've been under a lot of stress and need to nourish yourself with something packed to the rim with nutrition. 

It's also a good starter juice, if you're new to juice because this juice is like good old fashioned OJ- only re-fashioned! Make this the orange juice you reach for when you feel a cold coming on.  

Here's a quick break down of the ingredients:

It has carrots: rich in beta carotene, b vitamins and juicy minerals
It has ginger: a spicy, immune booster
It has cucumber: also very rich in juicy minerals, including silica which is great for supporting healthy hair, skin and nails
It has lemon: highly alkalizing and liver supporting +  vitamin C
It has orange with as much white stuff from the skin (the pith) as possible (the pith is rich in bioflavonoids): Lots of vitamin C and delicious sweetness + the bioflavonoids in the pith help you better absorb the vitamin C from the oranges :) 
 

Aside from being completely loaded with stress busting antioxidants and minerals,  the high vitamin c content of this drink is also great for supporting healthy skin and joints because vitamin c is used in the body to help build collagen. 

SUNNY SUMMER ORANGE JUICE RECIPE:

  • 3-4 carrots

  • 1 or 2 peeled orange

  • 1-2 inches of ginger

  • 1/3 to 1/2 a cucumber

  • 1 peeled lemon

  • a dash of sea salt or Himalayan rock salt

  • Optional: a good dash of cayenne- for a spicy kick.

To make: Chop everything according to juicer sizer and run the ingredients through your juicer. For maximum absorption, enjoy on an empty stomach.  

No juicer? No problem. Blend the ingredients up in your blender with some water and enjoy as a smoothie!
